A relaxing dosage of psych folk. Primarily instrumental and acoustic but sometimes resorts to gentle vocals, background ambiance and electric freakouts. Also includes a sweet cover of Gary Higgins' Thicker Than a Smokey. One of the first albums I heard from SOOA's flawless discography.
Jessica Moss is also known for playing violin and backing vocals with A Silver Mt. Zion. Her solo work is contemporary classical built on loops on top of loops of violin, yielding an effective epic and melancholic result. I saw her open for Godspeed You! Black Emperor and she noted that this album is about the refugees and masses who were/are daily forced to flee their war-torn home countries.
Weird outsider music to get lost in the void to. If you think I'm gonna describe the sound of this album, good luck - it's just as warped as the album's aesthetics.
O))) nerds this is for you. Audio recording of Sunn O)) complimented by Malefic of Xasthur live in Paris, Point Ephémère, 17.2.2006. Malefic sounds like a dementor sucking your soul into riffgantic monoliths, slowly... #nowblazingto
Aka Hypnotizer. Spaced out, mellow, transcendental psychedelic rock with occasional hypnotic vocals. Far out trip material. Interkosmos is Dave Schmidt and Pablo Carneval, both of legendary Electric Moon, plus Sergio Ceballos. Among the best psychedelic music can offer.
Colossal crushing drones from pioneers Earth. This EP features the prolific Joe Preston on bass and drums, Dave Harwell on another bass, and of course Dylan Carlson on guitar and magick. Get absorbed, if you're ready.
One of eclectics Boris' best outputs. Self-descriptive Feedbacker (aka Boris at Last) is a 42-minute journey divided into 5 parts. Beautifully flowed album with a lot to hear in. There's mandatory crushing drones and slow riffery, psychedelic-tinged doom, noise and occasional vocal and stoner work. Given the guitar tones of this album, this is some shit to get lost in.
